New Delhi, Feb 12:2010 (ANI): Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is on a two-day state visit to India, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here on Thursday.
Both leaders reportedly exchanged views on fresh efforts at initiating a peace process in the troubled region, especially the Russian proposal for an end-of-the-month meeting of the Quartet of the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and the U.S.
Dr Singh announced a grant of ten million dollars as budget support to the Palestinian National Authority.
He also assured President Abbas of India's support to their efforts aimed at economic and social development.
